Chairperson’s Message
The 3rd International Conference on Caring and Practice will be held on 25 (Sat), 26 (Sun) March, 2017, in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan.
Greetings from Kurume, and welcome to the city that is famous for “Kurume-Kasuri -cloth with splashed patterns-”.
Dr. Jean Watson, the honorary chairperson of the International Caring Society will join us here from the College of Nursing, University of Colorado at Denver. We will be able to have a very good opportunity to develop the direction of Human Caring Science in Nursing.
The International Caring Conference was held 2 times in Japan. The 1st was in Hiroshima in 2012, with the theme “Caring and Peace - Message from Nursing”. The 2nd was in Tokyo in 2015, with the theme “Caring and Nursing Education”. And the 3rd International Caring Conference we can expect next March, in Kurume.
What does it bring to us when we sustain and advance human caring values, knowledge, practices and ideals in theory, practice, education and research? Exchanging opinions freely and lively for expanding our ideas and inquiries into nursing practice and nursing science will help us to make our profession a more hopeful, human science-centered one.
At the “Kurume City Plaza,” a new central public square for the community, let’s share our new recognition and development of “Caring and Practice” in Human Caring Science in Nursing.
